This morning I was talking to my sister about getting plugged in to her church. She wants to meet people and share life with people but by the time she gets home from work cooks supper and gets her girls ready for bed she is exhausted! I realized that satan goes at great lengths to keep us from living life abundantly and losing our joy is where he begins. If he can keep you focused on to do list, your level of sleepiness, your “should have – would have” thoughts then he knows by the end of each day you will be too tired and emotionally drained to serve. God wants us to rest in Him alone and out of each circumstance He desires for you to have true joy. I am talking about the kind of joy that causes you to laugh when you leave your laundry in the washer too long and then it stinks like crazy. Or the joy that spills out of you when you seem to have lost everything and yet you still praise your Heavenly Father in the midst of that pain. That is a joy that is contagious and desired by others! This life isn’t about watching others serve and wishing you could do it. It’s about engaging Jesus in a way that when your obedience collides with His power you spill out a Joy that is UNSTOPPABLE 🙂
