Project Isaiah 58

Over the past few years Richard and I have had some of our closest friendships come out of our student ministry.  They are the ones  who just seem to get it and invest all they have back into you.  I wanted to tell you about a group of guys that are some of our closest friends. This organization is raw, brand new and yet doing everything they can to be the hands and feet to the homeless population.  This organization is called Project Isaiah 58 www.Projectisaiah58.org  They hold a worship service at a local church in town every Friday night and then after praying they hit the streets of both Gastonia and Charlotte NC. They have made so many friendships with people along the way and their passion is burning within each of them. They want to change the world and with or without money they know that many  homeless people just need someone to listen. They listen and offer the hope of Jesus.  They usually all pitch in and go buy tons of cheeseburgers and just start passing them out along the way. They worship in the middle of the streets with them, pray for them and and listen to their stories one by one. Last night others were able to  get a glimpse of their fruit.  Andy and Brandon  walked into church  with a guy they had met on the streets of Charlotte.  This guy called them and they went and picked him up and gave him  all new clothing (including shoes).  I thought to myself…wow thats what it means to be the hands and feet of an amazing God 🙂 Their slogan is “Daring people to love”  and they are modeling this well.  Please pray for these guys!! Isaiah 58: 7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

  1. Jesus is so good to us, why not love other? We are just pouring our hearts into people who need it most, and theres nothing we would rather do with our lives
